Online Licensure Supervision
I am proud to be an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS)!
Clinical Supervision is offered for professionals pursuing a counseling license in the states of Michigan and Georgia. I provide clinical supervision to persons who have a limited or associate level counselor designation (e.g., LLPC – MI; APC or LAPC – GA) who want to acquire hours towards obtaining their full license in the states of Michigan or Georgia. Supervision is provided via secure video conferencing. Please contact me to determine if we are a good fit for supervision.
My goal as a supervisor is to help the supervisee fully understand and meet the requirements for full, independent, licensure and to guide the supervisee in their professional and personal growth as a counselor. I utilize an integrative model of supervision for which Bernard’s discrimination model lays the foundation. I also find that elements of the Integrative Development Model are useful. This model showcases the supervisory relationship as the basis for learning. Utilizing these models allows me the flexibility that I need to meet the varying needs of each of my supervisees. I take pride in creating an environment that allows supervisees to grow and flourish, thus fostering movement to the next developmental level as a counselor.
Through open and honest dialogues and occasional homework, I work with my supervisees to provide a framework for their journey to fully licensed professional practice.
Focus of Supervision:
– Who am I as a counselor?
– What populations do I specialize and what brings me joy with these populations?
– What is my awareness and comprehension of ethics, multiculturalism and client welfare?
– What theoretical orientations fit my practice style and how do I conceptualize clients within this frame?
– Am I aware of my personal strengths and limitations as a counselor?
– What is my personal responsibility and accountability?
